RICHMOND, CA—Each and every season there are group of prospects that I like to label as the “late bloomers”. One of those players—Shane Bell to be more specific—was on display recently at the Nike Extravaganza.

Bell is a long-armed scoring guard prospect that possesses an excellent feel for the game. Explosive in transition and relentless on the defensive end are some of his intriguing attributes. A typical sequence for him is to pick up his man full-court, reminiscent of an Avery Bradley (Los Angeles Lakers) type, and due to his mindset and active hands he is a handful to deal with for opposing guards.
