O’Fallon sophomore Caleb Burton is one of the top 2022 guards in the state.  Currently checks in at #16 overall in the latest sophomore rankings.  The 6’0” sophomore has a nice build and solid athleticism.  Smooth offensive game with slick ball handling and the ability to hit stop and pop mid-range jumpers.  Shows flashes as a three point shooter.  Defensively he has a chance to be good with his active hands and anticipation.

Burton chatted with PHI about his sophomore campaign.

“We are doing pretty good.  We beat Collinsville.  I think I am playing good.  I am a team player.”

Where has he seen the biggest growth in his game?

“My jumper has improved since last year.”

He has a couple of areas he is focusing on getting better heading into the spring.

“My defense and ball handling.  I want to guard the best opposing guard.”

Has it been any different going from freshman to sophomore season?

“It is kind of the same.  I played a lot last year and started as a freshman.”
