Kobe Johnson — Nicolet — PG
The return of Jalen Johnson stole all of the headlines, but Kobe Johnson’s insane performance on Tuesday deserves some publicity. In a Nicolet win over Port Washington, Johnson tallied 30 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, and eight steals. This unprecedented stat line continues to prove that Johnson is one of the state’s best guard prospects.
Zac Johnson — River Falls — G
River Falls’ Zac Johnson is quietly having an outstanding junior season. Johnson is putting up 21.9 points per game through 16 matchups. This week, the guard took his game to another level, scoring a career-high 37 points in a win over Menomonie. He also scored 26 points earlier in the week.
AJ Vukovich — East Troy — F
Vukovich is committed to Louisville on a baseball scholarship, but that doesn’t stop him from playing basketball at a really high level. Closing in on 2,000 career points, Vukovich scored 46 points for East Troy in a blowout victory over Whitewater.
Vukovich will look to continue his strong play down the stretch of his final season in a basketball uniform.
Max Klesmit — Neenah — G
In an efficient performance on Tuesday night, Klesmit led Neenah to a 66-39 win over FVA rival Appleton East. The Wofford commit took 19 shots, making 11 of them in the victory.
Klesmit has yet to have a huge scoring game in his senior season, but the guard has still played great basketball. He has been consistent for the Rockets this year, despite facing defenses that are designed to limit his scoring output.
Honorable Mentions:
Keaton Ferris — Kaukauna — PG
It has been a tough season for Keaton Ferris and Kaukauna. The Ghosts entered the year as contenders for the Fox Valley Association Crown, but, at least right now, it appears that Kimberly is running away with first place in the FVA.
After winning two games this week, Kaukauna could be regaining their confidence and building some momentum.
Ferris has to be particularly happy this week after he dropped a season-best 34 points against Fond Du Lac on Tuesday.
David Joplin — Brookfield Central — SF
Joplin just continues to lead Brookfield Central to wins. The small forward hit the 30 point mark for the third time this season in a Lancer win over Wauwatosa West.
As Joplin continues to show how good of a player he is, expect college programs to be all over the BC prospect.
