Gabe Garber, senior, Sabetha:
With a 10-10 record, Sabetha faces Nemaha Central, and Garber was nearly shut down by the Thunder this week. But the KU football commit has been a gamer all season. He averages about 20 points per game, and he has games of 34, 28 and 28 on his resume.
Andrew Leonard, senior, Nemaha Central:
The 5-foot-11 senior has had an up-and-down season, but he is on an upswing or the 14-6 Thunder. He is averaging about 13 points a game, but his last four have been for 14 against Riverside, 18 against Perry-Lecompton, 14 against Holton, and 18 against the Sabetha team they will face Monday.
Nahcs Wahwassuck, sophomore, Royal Valley:
The 19-1 Panthers are no one-man band. Wahwassuck has plenty of support, led by a strong sophomore class. But the 6-foot-4 Wahwassuck is the leader. He averages about 16 points per contest, but has five games of 20-plus points. The Panthers face 2-17 Silver Lake.
Jarek Clark, senior, Silver Lake:
The 6-foot-1 senior has been the bright spot for the 2-17 Eagles. He has games of 29, 27 and 22, and averages about 16 per game. But the senior has been held to single digits in the last three outings. Silver Lake will have its hands full against #3 ranked Royal Valley.
Bryce Clements, senior, Jefferson West:
Jeff West’s most well-rounded player is the 6-foot-3 Clements. He averages 12 points and 7 rebounds. He has a few 20-point games on the season, but also is held to single figures frequently. The 12-8 Tigers face a pretty even match with 14-6 Perry-Lecompton.
Blake Farmer, senior, Perry-Lecompton:
Farmer isn’t the Kaws’ leading scoring, but the 6-foot-7 senior is a tough matchup. And he’s finishing strong: his last four games have been 18 versus Nemaha Central, 21 against Sabetha, 14 against Riverside, and 23 versus Osage City.
Maddox Decker, junior, Santa Fe Trail:
The 10-9 Chargers will haven’t been bad this year. Why do they have to face #2 Rock Creek right out of the gate? Tough draw. Decker has been good for 16 points, but will be needed for a big night Monday.
Dawson Zenger, junior, Rock Creek:
Not a lot needs to be said about the 6-foot junior who leads the 19-1 Mustangs. He averages 25 points a game and has six games of 30 or more.
