Continue Reading3A has a few teams that have the players to surprise some higher seeded teams and there are also some well coached teams that could run through everyone. With that said Manti is a clear cut #1 seed as they only have 1 loss against Dixie a top 4A program that has size and skill. Judge Memorial has some skilled players and size. Delta has the top scorer in 3A.
4 Judge Memorial vs. 13 Carbon
Carbon has a lot of players on their roster that can score and are lead by Kaleb Nelson and Brady Gagon who both average 12 points a game. 6’7 Deng Mayar will be a handful as he scores 16 a game. Judge played a tough schedule and will put it to the test now.
12 Summit Academy vs. 5 San Juan
Interesting match-up with a team that has been consistent and another team that has been up and down. Zach Englebright for Summit Academy will have to be on his best to give them a chance. Jaxon Torgerson will be tough to stop as he will be bigger than all of the guards Summit can through at him.
1 Manti vs. 16 North Sanpete
With 4 players averaging in double figures Manti is a machine that will be hard to stop. Don’t be surprised if Manti hits the 90 point mark.
9 American Leadership vs. 8 Grantsville
Grantsville is a sleeper team that will need more from their two players that are leading them in scoring. Jonah Larsen’s 19 points a game is tough to stop. That;s what makes this game interesting.
2 Emery vs. 15 Grand County
Two teams very familiar with each other. It’s hard to beat a team three times as Emery had a narrow 1 point victory in their last meeting. Brax Jensen has been lighting it up all year as he puts up 22 points a game.
10 South Sevier vs. 7 Delta
Delta has one of the best scorers Utah has seen as Derek Smith tries to keep himself in the mix to reach the mythical 2,000 point club. He needs three more games as his average is 30 a game.
3 Richfield vs. 14 South Summit
Richfield’s Josh Thalman is scoring 20 points a game for a battle tested Richfield team that could make a run at it and win it all.
11 Juab vs. 6 Morgan
Morgan looked unbeatable early on in the year. They have their work cut out for themselves but they will be lead by Carter Thackery. This team has the pieces to cause a few upsets.
