Chase started playing basketball in the 1st grade. “I’ve been a huge fan of the game my entire life and I’ve always loved putting in work and showing it in the game. My favorite part of playing would probably have to be just getting on the court and getting into the flow of the game. Nothing is better than getting into a rhythm and just having fun balling out with your teammates.”
Since Chase started playing he has spent many hours in the gym working on his game and trying to get better. “I don’t specifically train with anyone besides some teammates that come into the gym sometimes. Mostly every day and most of the off-season I train by myself for a few hours as well as lift weights. I enjoy getting in the gym and just working hard to elevate my skill level and continue to get better.” Chase is currently ranked #21 for PrepHoops Idaho in the class of 2021.

He played college football at ISU and had a chance to play college basketball as well so he knows what it takes. He has helped me in the gym with my game but also with the leadership and decision making parts of a team.”
Chase’s hard work and hours in the gym have been what has made him a large part of the Miners success, “I started playing varsity a few games into my Freshmen year and have been a starter ever since. My high school team has made it to state the last two years and we hope to make it a third straight year this spring. Last year we won the district championship where I had 30 points and went 7/7 from three-point. Our team is looking really good again this year heading into districts with the #1 seed.”

Chase is 6’1″ and 170 lbs, he is a very good shooter from outside and handles the ball very well. His quickness allows him to get to the rim and finish, as well as kick it out to open teammates when the defense collapses on him. He is a solid defender and isn’t afraid to get on the floor after a loose ball.
Over the years Chase has played some AAU basketball. “I played for Idaho Select 2 years ago and it was a really great experience, we played in Anaheim CA, Seattle WA, and Boise ID. I’ve played in a lot of spring and summer tournaments including SoCal Live, Northwest Premier Invitational, and other local tournaments like the Buhl Summer Tournament and Marsh Valley.” Like many others who have played AAU basketball Chase really enjoyed it, “I had a lot of fun playing AAU and playing in other states and big-time tournaments. It was also a good time to get to know new teammates and run a new system with a new coach. I would definitely like to get into AAU again this year because it’s so competitive and really helps elevate your game.”
Basketball isn’t the only sport Chase plays. “I played football and this year our team made it to the state championship game but we took 2nd place. It was a really good season I played cornerback, defensive end, and running back.” Chase also excels in the classroom with a 3.97 GPA and is a member of the honor society.
