Pine Forest HS Sophomore Guard Tristan Harkins: Didn’t have his best day shooting wise but we saw him him make plays in other ways. He made an impact by getting into the paint and finishing through contact as well as making good IQ plays.
Terry Sanford Senior Yates Johnson: Stretching the defense with his ability to shoot the ball as well as rebounding at a nice rate are attributes he brings to the team. He’s one of the more unselfish players that you will see, looking to make the right play that will lead his team to success.
Pine Forest HS Senior Guard Marquis Eskew: Love the enthusiasm that he plays with when he steps on the floor. He’s one of those players that you know won’t take any plays off and will be productive on both ends of the floor.
Terry Sanford Senior Guard Kaylon Keys: You cant measure the impact that he has on the game just by watching his offensive production. He is one of the better defenders in the county and uses his physique to make things difficult for whoever he may be guarding.
Terry Sanford Senior Guard Quay McMillan: Provided some offense for his team, knocking down some shots from midrange as well as three point land. His production will be needed for the reminder of the tourney if Terry Sanford hopes to pull off the upset.
EE Smith HS Sophomore Darius Robinson: Will be a player to keep an eye on for EE Smith over the next few years, he’s shown the ability to knock down shots from deep and will be one that can slide over to play some PG at times as well. He gets good arch on his shot and moves well without the ball which allows him to create open opportunities for himself.
EE Smith HS Senior Forward Nicholas Hicks: Showed toughness throughout the game, he played through plenty of contact and gave it everything he had for his team. Slashing to the basket as well as working on the boards to provide extra opportunities for his squad were all things we saw from him.
Cape Fear Unsigned Senior Guard Marquail James: His ability to break down his defender and get into the paint is what helps him to be productive. When you combine this with his athletic ability, you have a player that can make a very nice impact on the court.
Cape Fear Sophomore Guard RJ McDonald: He’s made a nice impact for his team this season and will be a huge part of their success in the future. The smooth lefty can slash to the basket as well as pull up for the midrange jumper.
