Ooltewah versus Warren County Preview
Ooltewah and Warren County meet Saturday night at the #1 seed Warren County’s gymnasium. After knocking off a fantastic White County team and simply by earning the #1 seed, WCHS is absolutely favored to win this game. Far below you can scour names of the key players.
Warren County is a traditional football power, never making a State Tournament appearance in boys basketball. Thanks to the final three points by C.J. Taylor, Warren County captured a D6 AAA Tournament Title. Taylor beat the buzzer with a three-pointer. He finished the game with 32 points and his team finished with a wonderful championship.
Scan the Region 3AAA draw and the path ahead for the ultimate winner of the OHS Owls versus the Pioneers.
The Path: Ooltewah defeated Soddy Daisy and then McMinn County to spring a surprise appearance in this regional tournament. They lost huge to both Bradley Central and Walker Valley in the last week. The season was par for the course, as Ooltewah generally finishes around .500 in recent history. The Owls did have a disturbingly bad regular season within D5AAA. They dropped 10 of their 12 games. A win would guarantee Ooltewah a matchup against Cookeville/Cleveland. The Raiders are heavily favored in that battle, with or without JaCobi Wood playing (injury). Cleveland and OHS met twice this season, Cleveland winning both games. The first fight was a narrow 4-point win for Cleveland and the second game was a 27-point stomping.
