The South Granville Vikings remain undefeated at 8-0 after two wins over Warren County and Roanoke Rapids. Senior Wy’kise Allen surpassed the 1,000-point mark this past Friday night against Roanoke Rapids behind a 17-point effort. They’re clicking on all cylinders at the right time heading into the final games of conference play. They play against Bunn on Friday which should be fun to watch.
2. Granville Central Panthers (8-1)
Last Rank: 2nd (↔)
The Granville Central Panthers continue to lurk in the shadows of the Vikings with wins over Roanoke Rapids and J.F. Webb this past week. They’re firing on all cylinders now with Terence Harcum Jr. and Jamari Mann leading the way. They got a win over Warren County on Tuesday night and will play against Louisburg at home on Friday.
3. Louisburg Warriors (4-6)
Last Rank: 3rd (↑3)
Louisburg has managed to climb back into the Top 3 after earning two wins this past week over Roanoke Rapids and J.F. Webb. Elijah Jamison is still putting up solid numbers at an efficient rate while his supporting cast follows his lead. They took a loss on Tuesday to South Granville. They’ll face Granville Central on the road on Friday.
4. J.F. Webb Warriors (4-6)
Last Rank: 5th (↑1)
The J.F. Webb Warriors find themselves in the Top 4 despite going 1-2 since the last edition of power rankings. They got a much-needed victory over Bunn on Tuesday night to keep from falling too far. Up next: Roanoke Rapids on Friday.
5. Bunn Wildcats (4-6)
Last Rank: 3rd (↓2)
The Bunn Wildcats have lost three straight games in Northern Carolina Conference action, but they’re still a competitive squad nonetheless. They’ve lost their last two of their last three games by a combined seven points and head into a hostile environment on Friday night in South Granville looking to play spoiler.
6. Warren County Eagles (4-6)
Last Rank: 4th (↓2)
Warren County has gone 1-2 since the latest NCC Power Rankings with losses against South Granville and Granville Central. They’ve got some time off to recover before returning to play Roanoke Rapids next Tuesday.
7. Roanoke Rapids Yellowjackets (0-9)
Last Rank: 7th (↔)
It seems there’s always one in each conference that hasn’t gotten that one win in conference play. In the NCC, it’s the Roanoke Rapids Yellowjackets. They’ve got a lot of work to do and room for growth but they did at least earn one victory in 2018-19.
