It was a well-played game which had a dramatic finish as Parkway North’s Vincent Xu hit a walk-off 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Vikings a 71-70 victory on Senior Night. Here is a look at the top standouts from Friday night’s Normandy-Parkway North game.
Keashon Petty 5’9″ Parkway North: The 2021 point guard scored a game-high 31 points to lead the Vikings to the victory. When it comes to going end to end with the basketball, he is as fast as anyone that I’ve seen this season. His quickness and speed enables him to accelerate past defenders on his way to the basket for easy buckets. He did it time and time again. The scouting report knows he’s coming to the basket and he gets there anyway.
Omarion Henry 6’7″ Normandy: The 2021 forward scored 20 points and displayed some tremendous athleticism and skill level for a player his size. He is still in the developmental stages of his game, but his upside and potential are through the roof. He can take the defensive rebound and go coast to coast for layups and dunks or he will drop some excellent dimes to teammates for buckets. His jumper and improved and he can rebound and block shots. He picked up his first Division I offer from Louisiana-Monroe this week.
Jamod Robinson 5’11” Normandy: The quick 2022 point guard scored 18 points while flashing his speed and flashy handles in the process. He has speed but he controls it well and he can change directions on the run and finish at the rim.
Michael Berry 6’0″ Parkway North: The 2022 guard scored 15 points with much of the damage coming in the second half. He is a crafty offensive player who can slash to the basket and score in traffic. He changes speeds well and keeps defenders off balance with his herky-jerky moves.
Jamaray Davenport 6’0″ Normandy: A talented 2021 wing player who had a big first half with 12 points. He has solid handles, but what he has is a smooth stroke from 3-point range. His mid range jumper is also pretty nice.
