Northwood Temple vs Trinity Christian: Trinity comes in as the overall #1 seed with their only losses coming to Village Christian twice. Other than those losses, TCS has rolled all season long with a team that depends on some pretty young talent to produce. They have matched up with Northwood Temple three times this year and have been victorious in each of the matchups.
Matchup to watch:
TCS Sophomore Guard Freddie Dillione: It seems that he is turning the corner and he will need to play his A game as his scoring will be called on early and often. ACC level schools have dropped in to see him recently, and he’s just scratching the surface of how good he can be.
TCS Senior Forward Todd Burtt: At the end of the day, he’s the guy that must show up if they want to win a state championship. The versatility he brings as a stretch forward as well as the intensity he plays with are things his team will need.
Northwood Temple Senior Forward Reggie Raynor: One of the hardest players in the state, you won’t have to worry about him not leaving everything he has on the court. Due to the fact that Northwood doesn’t have much size, his rebounding will be the key in the game so TCS will not dominate offensive boards for extra possessions.
Northwood Temple Sophomore Guard Jaquantae Harris: He’s shown his ability to the score ball over the few years that we have had the privilege of watching him and that’s exactly what his team will need from him. If he can give the Eagles 25-30 points, which he is fully capable of, that only will improve their opportunity at pulling off the upset.
The Burlington School vs Greenfield : These teams met up in January in a game that turned out to be a very memorable matchup as Greenfield won at the buzzer. Greenfield will look to defend its crown as they won the Championship last year in dramatic fashion.
Matchup to watch
Greenfield School Forward Trey Pittman: It took longer than it should have but the offers are finally beginning to roll in for Trey. He’s the perfect fit for the new style of basketball that’s being played as he’s a 6’7 Forward that can play inside but is especially productive with his ability to shoot the deep ball.
Burlington School Forward Kuluel Mading: He’s a player that has seen his stock rise over the last year and will need to be productive for his team to win. The combination of a height/wingspan as well as his ability to stretch the floor, makes him a prospect that colleges are excited about.
