Santa Fe jumped out early behind their guard trio. The depth for Calvary got them back in the game with a balanced scoring attack. They got within one point in the second half, but could never quite get over the hump as Santa Fe took home the win 48-41. Here are our Most Intriguing Prospects: Santa Fe Catholic vs Calvary Christian!
Javon Bell (Santa Fe Catholic – 2020)
Bell was outstanding especially early setting the tone for Santa Fe. The 6’4” shooting guard is a lengthy wing with plus athleticism. Smooth looking perimeter shot that he knocked down from both the wing and corner. Had a couple key finishes around the hoop. Bouncy wing that is headed to State College of Florida. Should be a D1 prospect after a couple years at the JUCO. Went for 14 points.
Joe Stubbs (Santa Fe Catholic – 2020)
Stubbs is also a 6’4” wing. Freak show athlete with major bounce throwing down an alley oop along with a massive one handed jam in transition. Got swatted a couple times in the second half on attempts at the rim, but he adjusted by using a runner late for an important bucket in the fourth quarter. Like what he brought to the table on the defensive end getting steals and rising up for a block of his own. He had 11 points.
Ray Davis (Santa Fe Catholic – 2020)
Davis is a quick and shifty point guard that has speed end to end. At times can be a bit out of control, but is fun to watch. Shines as a mid-range shooter hitting pull ups from 15 feet. Essentially ended the game with an and-1 at the rim late en route to 12 points.
Antwan Walker (Santa Fe Catholic – 2020)
Walker is a 6’1” combo guard that was the x-factor for his squad. The guard hit key shots, got to the foul line, and was a sound perimeter defender. He had 11 points.
Gregg Glenn (Calvary Christian Academy – 2022)
Glenn is the top ranked sophomore in the Prep Hoops Florida 2022 rankings. Listed at 6’7” and 218 pounds Glenn has an excellent frame with broad shoulders. Strong player that is a solid athlete with projectability. Glenn struggled throughout the night with fouls, turnovers, and wasn’t overly assertive after the first few minutes. Missed his only jump shot. He had a couple impressive spin moves in the lane that he converted with runners. Flashed as a ball handler in space, but turned it over in tight quarters. He had 6 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 6 turnovers. Despite the rough night he has a really high ceiling as a prospect because of his physical tools and upside skill wise.
Carl Cherenfant (Calvary Christian Academy – 2023)
This 6’5” small forward jumped off the floor at us coming off the bench. The freshman is a long and lanky wing with projectability. He was excellent as a wing finisher in transition. Showed athleticism and creativity off around the hoop. Like what he brings defensively with his lateral quickness and anticipation. So much room to grow both physically and skill wise. He had 9 points.
Dylan Canoville (Calvary Christian Academy – 2021)
At 6’5” Canoville is a strong bodied junior wing that plays with a good motor. Gets on the glass for second chance points. Can put it on the deck a little as well, but more of a power wing. Defensively he swatted a shot at the rim along with blocking a three. Two way wing finished with 9 points.
