JAMEL MELVIN | POTOMAC SCHOOL ’20
Melvin posed problems on both ends of the floor for his opponents. He blocked and altered several shots, but was also a threat to score at the rim or face-up and attack off the bounce. Melvin also shot the ball well from the foul line where he demonstrated good touch.
JORDAN PENNICK | SPALDING ’22
Pennick is a lanky guard who is disruptive defensively. He likes to get downhill and can attack the rim in transition. Pennick doesn’t shy away from contact and has the strength to finish through it.
TYHEIL PETERSON | SPALDING ’22
Peterson is a solid two-way guard who plays with good tempo. He can shoot the three if left open but is also adept at getting into the paint and finishing with touch.
CJ SCOTT | SPALDING ’22
Scot is a multi-faceted wing who can initiate the offense but also does his due diligence defensively, where he shows great potential. He plays with great effort and displays good instincts for the game.
AUSTIN SMITH | POTOMAC SCHOOL ’22
Smith is a fierce competitor who defends, can run the offense, and shoot from spot-up situations. He had a nice all-around game for the Panthers, contributing 10 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, and a steal.
JT TYSON | POTOMAC SCHOOL ’20
Tyson is a big wing who crashes the boards relentlessly and is active defensively. He prefers to attack the basket and put pressure on the defense, but can also find open teammates with his vision.
CAM WHITMORE | SPALDING ’22
Whitmore is an explosive athlete with an intriguing blend of size and skill. He can dribble, pass, and shoot, but also defend. Whitmore was responsible for putting his team ahead for good with this shot.
KHALIL WILLIAMS | POTOMAC SCHOOL ’23
Williams is known for his spot-up shooting, and he was able to deliver in that regard. The southpaw freshman, who drained 4 of 7 from deep and scored 5 important points with under 2 minutes remaining, certainly gained valuable experience in this contest.
