Las Vegas is stop number three on their West Coast winter circuit and is the last stop before the Championships in Oakland. I pulled up to the Tarkanian academy to catch a glimpse of some future prospects. In this article, PH takes a look at the performance of some of the top Las Vegas prospects in the c/o 2024.
DJ Thomas 5’9 PG West Coast Select 2024 – High IQ PG. Thomas continues to demonstrate exemplary court vision and elite passing skills. Showed a good feel and understanding of when and how to deliver to teammates. Feels like the type of player that raises the level of teammates play.
Anthony Nwuli 6’5 PF Give Sports 2024 – When he plays with a consistent motor, he’s tough to stop. He has the frame, the IQ and the competitive spirit to dominate his position. He played an average game for him, however, he showed that even when he’s not at his best, he is an elite rebounder that can impact the game with his play on the backboard.
Taj Degourville 6’2 SG Vegas Elite 2024 – After watching what Sebastian Mack has done for H.S basketball, in the state, it’s hard for me not to get excited about Degourville’s future. I’m assuming he’ll be sick of me by the time his Prep Career ends. Once again he made the game look easy. Mature frame that allows him to play through contact. He showed that he can make 3’s both in knockdown situations and off the bounce. Vegas Elite is yet to have suffered a defeat in this league, and he is a huge reason why.
Alijah Adem 6’0 PG Vegas Elite 2024 – I’ve never seen them go head to head, but can I please get some Elijah Aden vs DJ Thomas action. Aden has improved his handle and his passing ability. He has great vision and makes difficult deliveries look easy. He did a terrific job of getting paint touches, drawing two and dishing
Jase Richardson 6’0 Vegas Elite 2024 (featured image) – Richardson has really improved since I saw him this fall. I like his offensive game. He has an advanced skill set that includes a quick first step, and Euro’s to the basketball. Good run and jump athlete that was at his best playing downhill in transition.
