Teams did not meet in regular-season play.
AJ Braun (2021, 6’9″ C) from Fenwick is an elite scorer and rebounder. AJ averages 18pts and 11reb a game this year. While he is efficient inside, he can also stretch out the floor and hit shots from behind the arc. The standout is coming off of a 27pt, 13reb and 7blk game against Blanchester in the first round.
Max Stepaniak (2021, 6’7″ F) from Ross is going to need to slow AJ Braun down. He is average 15pts and 7reb per game this year. While he doesn’t offer the same versatility as AJ does, he will be key in slowing AJ down and forcing Fenwick’s other players to have to step up. I expect Max to attack AJ early to try to create foul trouble.
Chaminade-Julienne vs Oakwood
Teams did not meet in regular-season play.
Dan Nauseef (2021, 6’6 F) from CJ will be the biggest player on the court in the Dayton area clash. Averaging just under 9pts and 8reb a game, Dan is going to have to add an inside element to the guard-heavy matchup. If he can be efficient inside on both offense and defense while his surrounding teammates keep Oakwood’s guards from getting open looks, CJ will have better chances of getting by Oakwood.
Darren Rubin (2020, 6’0″ G) from Oakwood averages about 21pts, 6reb, and 4ast. If he can get open, he will hit his shots. He has scored 20 plus points in each of his last six games. He will be going against an athletic CJ team with multiple people capable of switching out on him. He will need to create good chances both on and off the ball to be successful.
Bellbrook vs Kenton Ridge
Teams did not meet in regular-season play.
Ryan Chew (2021 G) from Bellbrook is on a scoring tear for his side. He has scored 19, 27, and 24 in his last 3 contests. He will need to bring that offensive scoring to his next matchup against Kenton Ridge while being a better decision-maker when it comes to passing the rock.
Tyler Eberhart (2020, 6’7″ F) from Kenton ridge is averaging 20pts and 10reb per game this season. He will need to have an efficient game inside scoring as Bellbrook will not be able to match up against both him and his 6’8″ counterpart.
