The Games
5PM: Detroit King vs. Detroit Frederick Douglass
7PM: Cass Tech vs. CMA
10 Prospects
Tyson Acuff (2020, PG, Cass Tech)
Acuff is having a memorable senior season. Can he top it off with a PSL tourney championship?
Pierre Brooks II (2021, G/F, Detroit Frederick Douglass)
Brooks II is the type of leader that a coach wants on the floor in big moments like this.
Dorian Johns (2020, G, CMA)
Johns has quietly packed a scoring punch for CMA.
Kyle Legreair (2020, CG, Cass Tech)
Legreair is a 2 way player that will have a huge impact on his team’s success.
Zavion McClendon (2020, CG, Detroit Frederick Douglass)
McClendon can handle the ball and has a good stroke from deep. If he has a big game, Frederick Douglass is tough to beat.
Donivan Peoples (2020, CG, Detroit Frederick Douglass)
Peoples is a valuable combo guard with a nice stroke from deep and a quick release.
Isaiah Sanders (2020, PF, Cass Tech)
Sanders plays bigger than his height. He’s as tough as they come and will be critical in a tough matchup with Terrelle.
Damon Terrelle (2021, F, CMA)
Terrelle is a springboard and a ferocious finisher. He can run the floor and get the crowd out of its seats.
Chansey Willis (2022, PG, Detroit King)
Willis is one of the best young floor generals in Michigan. His game is mature beyond his years and he has D1 potential.
Omar Ziegler (2021, CG, Detroit King)
Ziegler has flown a bit under the radar until recently, but he’s flat out, one of the best in the state.
Predictions
Detroit King vs. Detroit Frederick Douglass
This game will be at battle that features 2 of the top backcourts in the state. King won the last meeting by a score of 55-46. Frederick Douglass slows the pace and squeaks out a win, 50-49.
Cass Tech vs. CMA
Cass Tech has a dynamic senior backcourt, while Terrelle and Johns carry the load for CMA. I think Acuff is just playing too good to lose on Tuesday. Don’t put anything past the bouncy Terrelle though, he has the talent to give CMA a chance to win it at the end. Cass Tech with the W, 63-51.
