The players highlighted below are a mixture of newly added players to the rankings, as well as players that have been considerably moved up in the update.
2022 Stock Risers:
6’0 PG Maleek Arington (Auburn HS) – Maleek has grown in his game and frame over the course of the last year. Standing at 6’0 now, Maleek looks to be physically stronger and more aggressive all around. His skill set is there on the offensive end. He can hit the three ball, floater or score in transition. One of the things I am always looking for in rankings updates is players that are noticeably improving and Maleek has done that with his play on the court. Auburn has a guaranteed spot in the 4A regional round and Maleek has played a big role in that.

6’2 CG Kahlil Singleton (Fort Vancouver HS) – Kahlil is another player that has grown a couple inches from a year ago, but his consistent performance on the court is the biggest reason why he rose so much in the rankings. A dynamic scoring guard that has the handle to break his man down and then the athleticism to finish with some skill and flare. Kahlil can hit from the outside and he gave teams real problems in league play, consistently attracting face guard defenses, box and 1 schemes and all sorts of game plans to slow him down. Fort Vancouver struggled in the win-loss column, but Kahlil did his part. He finished the season averaging nearly 22 points per game, up from 12.7 his freshman year.

6’6 SF Will Woodward (Eastlake HS) – Will blossomed as much in his sophomore year as any player in the state. He averaged a modest 5 points, 5 rebounds per game in his freshman year. He upped those averages to 16 points and 11 rebounds per game this season. The strong lefty got a lot more aggressive and benefited from a 3 inch growth spurt too. He is a mismatch with his ability to make plays inside and out at 6’6. He is a very good baseball player, but if he keeps progressing on the hardwood at the same rate, he may have a difficult decision as far as what he wants to do in college. *Feature image

6’0 PG Tayshawn Colvin (Liberty HS) – One of the biggest stock risers in all of Eastern Washington. Tayshawn played well at our Top 250 Expo in the Fall, but took his game to another level this Winter. From a game winner in the playoffs to an undefeated season (22-0), Tayshawn has been lighting it up for the small school in Spangle. Tayshawn is skilled! He has all the floaters, footwork and creative ways of getting his shot off. The 6’0 point guard went from being unranked to number 32 in the state. A definite stock riser!
