All the teams have battled through ups and downs during the regular season and in the playoffs, it is even more of a grind. Let’s take a look at the matchups for schools in the Antelope Valley who placed their berth in the playoff run.
Quartz Hill (#1 Golden League) vs. Simi Valley (#4 Coastal Canyon League)
The Quartz Hill Rebels have made a strong run to end regular season play with a 3-game win streak and capturing that number one spot in the standing. With a 5-2 record at home, the Rebels look to defend home-court advantage as the Pioneers look for an upset victory in the Antelope Valley. Simi Valley who is much improved since last season and was 4-5 on the road during the regular season, looks to gain a big win in hopes of making a deep playoff run.
Lancaster (#2 Golden League) vs. Katella (#3 Orange League)
For the Eagles, it looks as if they’ve been playing very confident lately, especially with an overall winning percentage of 0.667. Finishing the season astronomically improving compared to last season, Lancaster looks to extend their winning streak to five games with three of those games being at home. Katella, on the other hand, looks to capture a big road win over the Eagles as they also have found their groove towards the end of the season, finishing league play on a two-game win streak.
Eastside (Tied #3 Golden League) @ Cate (#2 Frontier League)
Although the Lions have found ways to win games this season, it was a bumpy road the whole year. Ending the season with a 12-12 record, the gritty Lions looks for a road victory over a tough Cate team. Eastside has a better record on the road as look to use it to their advantage with the Rams being a tough team to beat at home, 4-1.
Highland (Tied #3 Golden League) @ Oxnard (#1 Pacific View League)
The playoffs are not a new site for the Highland Bulldogs, making a deep run over the past couple of years. The scrappy bulldogs look to continue to extend there win streak as they have a high winning percentage on the road. The winning tradition looks to continue for Highland as they battle the Pacific View League Champions, Oxnard. Only loosing one time all season, the Yellowjackets have been playing exceptional all season with a 21-game win streak while being undefeated at home. The hostile environment at Oxnard is a battle the Bulldogs will be hungry for as they do not back down without a fight.
