Tuesday night marked the start of the 2020 NCHSAA playoffs with teams getting their first opportunity to advance on to the next rounds. As discussed in our preview of the state tournament there were quite a few games that we expected to go down to the wire, and that’s exactly what happened with those matchups with games going down to the final moments. Let’s take a look at some of the standout performances from players around the state on Tuesday night.

Terry Sanford and Northside-Jax had a back and forth matchup with Terry Sanford getting the win on the road and advancing to the next round. Terry Sanford Sophomore Guard Davis Molnar led the team with 24 points on the night, which is what the Bulldogs will need if they hope to continue to advance.

Riverside-Williamston Sophomore Wing Avion Pinner put up some monster numbers in their first round win over Columbia, dropping 37 Points and pulling down 15 Rebounds. Pinner is a player that D1 programs should already be watching closely, he has legit D1 size and skillset for a wing player and is only getting better.
