Class 3
District 1 (at Kennett): Charleston (24-5) vs. New Madrid (18-9), 7:30 p.m. – A rematch between SEMO Conference opponents. Top-seeded Charleston has had a stranglehold on this district for years. Charleston won the first game 66-48. (Prediction: Charleston).
District 2 (at Fredericktown): Scott City (18-8) vs. Kelley (19-9), 7:30 p.m. – A rematch of a game played in December when Scott City took a 58-51 victory at Kelly. (Prediction: Scott City)
District 3 (at Herculaneum): Steelville (24-2) vs. St. Pius (20-7), 7:30 p.m. – Excellent matchup between a couple of teams hungry for a district title. One player to watch is 6’7″ 2020 Riley Naeger of St. Pius. Steelville has a talented guad in 2020 Tanner Diaz plus a 17-game winning streak. (Prediction: St. Pius)
District 4 (at Mountain Grove): St. James (22-3) vs. Ava (22-5), 7:30 p.m. – St. James is looking for another district crown after advancing to the state quarterfinals last season. 2020 guard Andrew Branson can score in bunches. Ava is enjoying a strong season as the SCA Conference champions. They have an excellent young talent in 2022 Andrew Dalton. (Prediction: Ava)
District 5 (at Whitfield): Lutheran South (10-17) vs. Whitfield (9-18), 7:30 p.m. – A battle between two teams who are putting it together at the right time. Lutheran South has size with 6’6″ 2021 Jack Lawson while Whitfield is small and quick with 2023 guards Jorden Williams and Nolan Simon. (Prediction: Lutheran South)
District 8 (at Winfield): Christian-O’Fallon (22-5) vs. Montgomery County (24-2), 7:30 p.m. – A battle of speed vs. size tonight as Christian features 2021 guards Roddy Alexander and Kalin Black while Montgomery County features 6’8″ Carson Parker and his 6’7″ brother Collin Parker. (Prediction: Christian-O’Fallon).
District 15 (at St. Michael’s): St. Michael the Archangel (22-5) vs. University Academy (23-1), 7:30 p.m. – One of the premier matchups of the night. St. Michael’s has an excellent group led by 6’5″ 2020 Ben Palacios while UA features one of the state’s top scorers in 2021 guard Stevie Strong, Jr. (Prediction: St. Michael the Archangel).
Class 2
District 1 (at Campbell): Bernie (23-5) vs. Hayti (19-8), 7:30 p.m. – Bernie has another strong team led by Blake Harty and Landon Zoll while Hayti features 5’6″ guard Tyliek Moore, who hit a buzzer-beater to put his team into the district finals. Always an entertaining game between these two teams. (Prediction: Bernie)
District 4 (at Crystal City): Brentwood (14-12) vs. Crystal City (13-12), 7:30 p.m. – Brentwood features high-scoring guard Chris Hill while Crystal City is led by 6’2″ 2020 standout Drew Richardson. (Prediction: Brentwood)
District 9 (at Laquey): Iberia (21-4) vs. Richland (23-3), 7:30 p.m. – Iberia has a excellent string of district titles put together and to get another one, they have to get by a conference rival. (Prediction: Iberia).
District 10 (at Cabool): Hartville (26-2) vs. Seymour (17-11), 6 p.m. – Top seed Hartville has aspirations of a deep tournament run, but it must by by Seymour tonight. (Prediction: Hartville)
District 12 (at Webb City): Thomas Jefferson (18-8) vs. Purdy (14-12), 7:30 p.m. – (Prediction: Thomas Jefferson)
Class 1
District 4 (at Norwood): Dora (27-2) vs. Norwood (18-10), 6 p.m. – No. 1 ranked Dora has been winning games and putting up big numbers behind 2021 Missouri State commit Issac Haney. (Prediction: Dora)
District 6 (at Rich Hill): Montrose (18-9) vs. Rich Hill (13-14), 6 p.m. – Montrose got by Drexel in overtime in the semifinals and they will now face Rich Hill on its home court in the finals. (Prediction: Rich Hill)
District 7 (at Southwest Baptist): Fair Play (15-11) vs. Climax Springs (18-8), 7:30 p.m. – (Prediction: Climax Springs)
District 11 (at LaPlata): LaPlata (17-9) vs. Novinger (16-8), 7:15 p.m. (Prediction: LaPlata)
District 16 (at Albany): Platte Valley (25-2) vs. Worth County (12-14), 6:30 p.m.- Defending state champion Platte Valley will attempt to take its first step towards getting back to Springfield in tonight’s district title game. (Prediction: Platte Valley)
