This event brings in elite international talent from across the world together during NBA All-Star Weekend. Many of these players will play on high-major colleges and some will choose to go the professional route. Check out Basketball Without Borders: Top Posts!
Charles Bediako (Canada)
Bediako is a five-star caliber 2021 center prospect. He was dominant throughout the weekend in Chicago. Stands at 6’10” 210 pounds. Physical body and such a high-motor out of the junior big man. Excellent running the floor beating his opponent down the floor consistently. Finished with strength around the hoop. Would like to see more skill development to make him a complete player. His toughness and tenacity rebounding on both ends was very impressive along with his intensity defensively as a rim protector. One of the best players at the camp. Plays prep ball in Ohio.
Kai Sotto (Philippines)
Sotto stood out with his 7’2” height and high level skill around the basket. The 2020 center worked very well in the pick and roll game. He is a quality screener and finished well on the other end. Lefty has a decent mid-range game. Sotto can finish with either hand around the cup with a soft touch. High pointed rebounds. Not the best athlete, but very effective as a skilled five man. Goes to The Skill Factory in Georgia.
Ariel Hukporti (Germany)
Hukporti got MVP of the event and after the way he played on Sunday it was very well deserved. The 7’0” 250 pound five man is a man child! Displayed a complete game on the interior. He had mobility on the offensive end. Finished with power at the rim on an array of thunderous dunks. Displayed skill on the block with left handed hook shots. Even stretched it out once to hit a three. It might be in his bag of tricks, but his main game is inside! On the defensive end he was a complete force blocking everything that came in the lane. Big time rim protector with his timing and athleticism.
Adama Sanogo (Mali)
Sanogo goes 6’9” 245 pounds and he means business around the hoop. Physical player that rebounds at a high rate and finishes around the hoop. Was impressed with how he played in the pick and roll game both as a screener and finisher. Not the twitchiest guy in the world athletically, but he gets the job done with power, brute force, and decent footwork in the paint. The 2021 post is from the Patrick School in New Jersey.
Alex Tchikou (France)
This Dream City Christian (NV) center has great raw tools standing at 6’11”. The mobile and athletic five man grabbed some rebounds in traffic. Didn’t have a hugely consistent week from a production standpoint when we were watching, but a lot of intriguing tools out of this 2021 prospect.
Moussa Cisse (Guinea)
As Andrew Slater of The Athletic reported Cisse could only participate in the drills portion of the camp because of rules with his high school in Tennessee. The Lausanne Collegiate 6’10” center has a grown man’s body already! He flashed solid footwork and improving skill around the basket including using fakes along with up and unders in the drills portion. He is already force as a rebounder and defensively so despite not seeing him in the games it was nice to see his skill development.
Moussa Diabate (France)
Diabate attends IMG Academy in Florida. The five-star 2021 power forward has a nice frame with broad shoulders. Should be able to add strength long term. Wiry strong at this stage. He was at his best as an offensive rebounder getting second chance points. Struggled shooting it. Defensive presence as a rim protector contesting both guards and bigs.
Sadraque Nganga (Angola)
Nganga attends Hillcrest Prep in Arizona. The 6’10” center was pretty quiet throughout the weekend. We liked him quite a bit when we saw him a few weeks back with his high school team. The 2022 post has a lot of intriguing physical tools though, but the production just wasn’t there.
Azuolas Tubelis (Lithuania)
This 6’9” 227 pound power forward is a plus athlete that made some spectacular plays above the rim. Threw down some nasty dunks. Got out in transition after a steal for a bucket. Lefty can handle it in the open floor with fluidity. Crashes the glass for put backs. Like his upside quite a bit as a skilled face up four that can put it on the deck. Didn’t shoot it a ton.
Blake Jones (Australia)
Jones is a 6’9” power forward that stretches the floor with his three point shooting. Drilled several of them spotting up. One of the best shooting forwards at the event.
Amaan Sandhu (India)
Sandhu is a big boy at 6’11” 240 pounds. Not overly athletic, but showed glimpses of it every now and then. Good area rebounder and efficient around the basket when the ball was in his hands.
