Arkansas Valley-Chisholm Trail (I)
Derby, Campus, Hutchinson, Maize, Newton, Salina Central, Salina South
Jevon Burnett, 6’1, G/F, 2020, Salina Central
Burnett is a physical player who has good size and a strong, muscular build. He sees time inside on defense and is also asked to play inside on offense. He’s an aggressive player who earns his time and leads by example. Burnett is good at blocking shots and even better at collecting rebounds and finishing plays around the rim. He’s good at finding position and his width and build give him an edge inside when he’s looking to make a play.
KJ Hampton, 6’1, G, 2020, Maize
Hampton is a seasoned player who understands his role and how to come up with a smart play. He can score for himself and looks to rebound and play aggressive defense in transition and half court settings. Hampton is averaging 8.4 points, 1.3 assists, four rebounds and one steal per game. He can also block shots. Hampton is shooting 51 percent from the field and 60 percent from the free throw line.
Cade Hannert, 5’11, G, 2020, Salina South
Hannert is a great all-around player for South who runs hard and gets up the floor. He can make plays in transition and is quick to get back on defense and protect the basket. He has good quickness and strength for perimeter play and can operate and several guard positions. He hustles in a variety of ways and is a good rebounder and can even block shots. Hannert is averaging 6.8 points, 1.4 assists, 5.6 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.3 blocks per game.
Kolyn Sauceda, 5’9, G, 2020, Newton
Sauceda is an aggressive player who brings toughness and control to the floor. He is a strong defender who stays with the ball and takes his time and makes good plays. He has good speed and strong hands and understands his role and how to come up big as a defender and can even rattle opponents in full court situations or keep them guessing on the perimeter. Saucede has increased his offensive productivity the second half of the season and is currently averaging 9.1 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game.
Aaron Watson, 6’0, G, 2020, Salina Central
A nice 3-point shooter who can handle the ball some. Watson brings experience to the floor and has the ability to impact a game with late scoring. He’s an unselfish player and he runs well in the team’s offense. He can play with the ball in his hands and has good vision and looks to make extra passes and keep his teammates involved. Watson plays well off the ball and comes through in a variety of ways.
