Sasha Glushkov | 6’11” | Blue Ridge
The Russian native has come a long way both with his body and his game since coming over at the beginning of his junior season, and it seems to me like a lot of people are missing the boat on him. Sure he needs to continue to fill out but he has put on some weight since he’s been over here, he’s become more aggressive and comfortable on the offensive end and he does something most 6’11” guys can’t do which is shoot the basketball from deep. He still isn’t a finished project but with the development he’s shown he could be a steal at the next level.
Klemen Vuga | 6’9” | Virginia Episcopal School
When it comes to raw talent, Vuga may have more than anyone else on this list and that says something. The euro style big man brings what you expect from one, a guy who has a skill set at 6’9” that you’d likely expect from someone who is more in the 6’3” range. It isn’t hard to tell that Vuga has been trained in all positions and facets of the game, as he feels just as comfortable putting it on the deck on the perimeter as he does being the screener in the pick-and-roll where he can pop or dive for a basket. He’s a versatile guy that is a walking mismatch who can shoot it and create his own shot as well.
Kai Kueper | 6’9” | Middleburg
The German native has found himself behind a number of big men who are more athletic but that doesn’t change the fact that at 6’9” he can stretch the defense easily and open lanes for his talented guards to get downhill and make plays. He’s mobile for his size that allows him to run the floor and move on the perimeter, he has a good release and is consistent from deep and when you play through him he can make plays as well.
Gill Williamson | 6’9” | St. Christopher’s
Williamson is by far the most improved guy on this list from being an awkward 6’7” kid who hit a late growth spurt at the beginning of his junior year to being an athletic and long 6’9” big with a skill set that allows him to stretch the defense and play on the perimeter. Now that he’s grown into his body he’s become a fluid athlete that can run the floor on both ends and he can protect the rim and catch lobs as well, but he’s also comfortable in the half court as a guy who can make shots from deep and pass the rock as well. His late improvement and growth spurt has made him a very intriguing prospect, and while he still has some work to do he’s shown that he could be a steal for a program who’s willing to take a chance on a late bloomer.
Gabe Jimerson | 6’7” | Miller School
Jimerson has had a very stellar year since moving from St. Chris in Richmond to Miller School outside of Charlottesville and looks like a scholarship level player right now. At 6’7” he has a wide frame that allows him to muscle inside, but he runs and moves very well and feels very comfortable on the perimeter. He has a nice looking shot much like his brother who is a freshman at St. Louis, and he’s a true four man that would be a great addition to anyone who runs a four out set.
Eric Henderson | 6’8” | Atlantic Shores
Henderson has seen quite a few division two and three schools that have come in to his recruitment because of his skill set at 6’8”. He’s a guy who isn’t the fastest or most athletic on the floor but at 6’8” he can make shots from deep, he can face up and attack and he’s a good passer as well. He understands the game well and has great versatility on the court.
Azaiyah Roberts | 6’6” | Princess Anne
Roberts is a two sport start that is seeing some interest in football as well as basketball, and you can see that toughness in the way he plays the game. At 6’6” he’s a big guy that’s really strong and able to bully guys that are even taller than him, but he also has good touch out to the three-point line and he’s someone that can hurt the zone at the elbow. Whether he chooses basketball or football he’ll be ready with his body and skill set at the next level.
