Region 1 in particular is stacked with talented teams and individuals, all of whom will be fighting for a chance to be crowned champion.
Here are a few players from the region to keep an eye on:
Micah Peavy – 2020 6’7 Small Forward (Nike Pro Skills (EYBL)) Duncanville HS – The Texas Tech commit led his team to a first-place finish in District 8-6A. He is the defending State Championship MVP and will be looking to lead Duncanville to a second straight 6A state title. Peavy is a cold-blooded slasher who gets to the rim at will. He is an exceptional athlete and can kill opponents as a scorer inside the arc.
Rylan Griffen – 2022 6’5 Shooting Guard Richardson HS – Griffen is a great three-point shooter with a knack for drilling contested jumpers. He excels at shooting off the dribble with rhythm pull-ups but can also hit from the catch. The sophomore marksman can get up and finish alley-oops above the rim as well. Richardson is going to be a postseason threat this year and in years to come with him on their roster.
Jaylin Posey – 2020 6’3 Shooting Guard (Texas Legions Elite) Grand Prairie HS – Posey is a physical guard with a tremendous post game. He is a gifted athlete who thrives in transition, but he possesses a relentless back-to-the-basket game in the half court too. Additionally, the SFA commit contributes on the glass at both ends and plays solid defense. He headlines a terrific Grand Prairie team that finished the season with just two losses.
Keyonte George – 2022 6’5 Shooting Guard Lewisville HS – The No. 1 player in our 2022 rankings is constantly in attack mode when he is on the floor. George is an excellent catch and shoot player from behind the arc. He moves extremely well off the ball. The sophomore two-guard is also a crafty finisher on the drive. He plays tight defense and is often tasked with guarding the opposing team’s best player. There is a lot to like about this underclassman.
Ryan Agarwal – 2022 6’6 Shooting Guard/Small Forward Coppell HS – Agarwal is a phenomenal jump shooter. He is liable to let it fly from anywhere on the court. The sophomore marksman can hit from distance or from mid-range with pull-up jumpers. His long and wiry frame allows him to get off contested shots and it also benefits him down low when he cuts to the basket. He is difficult to contain once he gets into a rhythm on offense.

Duncan Powell – 2021 6’7 Forward DeSoto HS
Donald Ghostone – 2020 6’7 Small Forward Grand Prairie HS
Ja’Bryant Hill – 2020 5’10 Point Guard Duncanville HS
Kylin Green – 2021 6’0 Point Guard Lewisville HS
Cason Wallace – 2022 6’3 Shooting Guard Richardson HS
Anthony Black – 2022 6’4 Shooting Guard Coppell HS
Ben Joelson – 2020 6’6 Power Forward Flower Mound Marcus HS
