Kam Woods, Pinson Valley: Kam is on a mission to lead his team to back to back 6A titles. He is one of the most exciting players in the country and can score in heaps. He had a horrific first half versus Oxford, but in the second half turned it on for one of the best games of his career. In a stretch between the third and fourth quarter, he scored 31 straight points for his team finishing the game with 41, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Zondrick Garrett, Oxford: Zondrick gave every ounce of effort in the 70-67 OT loss to Pinson Valley. He’s a force to be reckoned with on the interior. He finished with 28 points, 18 rebounds, and 3 blocks. He had an unbelievable third quarter with 19 straight points for his team. He’s a steal for the South Alabama Jaguars next season. If he continues to develop his outside shot, the sky is the limit for him.
Brody Peebles, Hartselle: Brody is a streaky scorer and will look to continue his hot shooting into the later rounds. He led his Hartselle Tigers to a 71-67 victory over Minor. He got out of the gate hot with 16 points in the first quarter with 36 total points. The Liberty commit will be expecting a huge senior season and continue to improve.
Jamon Reed, Huffman: Reed led the way for Huffman in the Double OT win against Albertville. He finished 25 points and 7 rebounds. He was a force to be reckoned with and delivering when his team needed him.
Ezekiel Spann, Bessemer City: The 6’7″ forward led the way over Muscle Shoals with 7 points and 8 rebounds. He was joined by his teammate, Thaddeus Williams, who scored 23 points. Their defense was crucial in slowing down Mikey McIntosh and Ty Smith.
Chi Jordan, Albertville: Chi tried everything in the Double OT loss to Huffman. He finished with 12 points and 11 rebounds. No points were bigger than his back-to-back threes within the final 40 seconds of the first OT to force a second one.
Mikey McIntosh, Muscle Shoals: Mikey was on a mission in the first half against Bessemer City. He went for 18 points and was having his way inside and outside. The defense made a half time adjustment, forcing him to shoot from the outside. He struggled in the second half with only 4 points, finishing with 22. He’ll have to improve on that at the next level when the defense changes their attention to him. He’s had a tremendous career. He’ll be a snag for a college team soon. He is a position-less player with extreme bounce and drastically improved his game.
