5. East
East had a bad week losing two games but they are still a top team in the state. One concern with this team is when playoffs come around whether or not they will be ready to face off against top teams after not playing many tough teams throughout the season, this team has the talent but is not very battled tested. Boston Stanton and Langston Reynolds are still keeping up the crazy scoring both putting up around 20 points a game. Point guard Quis Davis had a huge game this week dropping 42 points, he went 5 for 7 from three point land and 11 of 11 from the free throw line, impressive showing. They have some decent match ups coming up this week when they play Far North East and Lincoln.
4. Ralston Valley
Ralston Valley is a deep team who has beat some good teams and have some good challenges before the season ends. This team is coming off of a good win against Valor Christian. Their senior duo Caden Gigstad and Caleb Rillos had a great game against in that win. Caden had 26 points and 5 assist, and Caleb had 20 points and 9 rebounds, leading them to the win. This team has some challenging match ups this week when they play Columbine and Pomona, if they win both of these games then it will prove they are a top five team.
3. Cherry Creek
Cherry Creek is having a better season then expected, with their football players getting back in to full form sooner then usual. Cherry Creek has some big wins beating Smoky Hill, Overland, Eaglecrest, and a tough loss to Grandview in overtime. They have one of the best juniors in the state Julian Hammond who is averaging 22.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. Julian and Myles Purchase make up one of the best defensive back courts in the state, which will bring this team far. Big man Gunnar Helm, who is fresh off some huge football offers, has stepped up recently manning the spot down low. This team has a good challenge coming up when they play Overland.
2. Grandview
Grandview has an impressive record in their league only losing one game to Smoky Hill in overtime. In their second game against Smoky Hill they showed what we have been waiting to see, their role players stepping up and helping them win the game. The two players who stepped up were Tanner Holtman and CJ Thomas, Tanner had 18 points going 5 for 9 from three point range; and CJ had 4 points, 5 rebounds, and a huge dunk that changed the momentum of the game. If these two guys can consistently step up then this team has a good chance of going far in March. This team has a decent match up coming up when they play Arapahoe.
1. Rangeview
Rangeview is still on top, after beating a Vista Peak team who has had a good season they should breeze through the rest of their schedule. The Speller twins (Christopher and Christian) are the leaders of this talented team, they are both tall guards who are elite athletes. The question with this team after coming out of a weak conference will they be ready for the bigger match ups that come in the playoffs, they do have some good wins early season but will not be truly tested again until playoffs come around.
