Last night lived up to its billing. There were prospects that had excellent games in every corner of the state. We will look at 5 players that had memorable performances.
*This isn’t a “top 5”, but 5 that were notable for a variety of reasons.
Bennie Crenshaw (2021, PG, Waterford Kettering)
Crenshaw’s team was defeated by South Lyon, but his individual performance was magnificent. He had 31 points, 5 steals, and 4 assists. Crenshaw is a dynamic guard that can score as well as facilitate.
Mason Docks (2022, PG, Williamston)
Docks was terrific in a 74-49 victory over St. Johns. He scored 25 points, dished out 7 assists, and had 5 steals. Docks has a game that is mature beyond his years and he’s proving to be a high level point guard in the class of 2022.
Reece Hazelton (2020, F, Glen Lake)
Hazelton helped his team earn a 56-41 win against Kingsley. He notched a double-double with 34 points and 10 rebounds. Hazelton continues to show that he’s one of the most versatile forwards in Michigan.
Matt Nicholson (2020, C, Clarkston)
Nicholson continued his dominating season with a triple-double in a 67-54 win over West Bloomfield. He had 34 points, 22 rebounds, and 12 blocks. Nicholson is a premier post player that’s having a Mr. Basketball worthy season.
Zach Yorke (2020, G/F, Millington)
Yorke continued to show his versatility and next level potential. He lead his team to a 65-50 win over Ithaca. Yorke contributed in a variety of ways, totalling 29 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 blocks.
Since there were so many outstanding performances on Friday, here’s an extra one.
Jimmy Scholler (2020, G, Forest Hills Central)
Scholler was key in his team’s 69-43 win over Northview. He dominated on the offensive end, dropping 27 points in the contest. Scholler is an elite shooter and scorer.
