Elijah Jamison goes for 34 points
Elijah Jamison played yet another solid game to open the Northern Carolina Conference Tournament. He finished with 34 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in an 81-73 victory. Jamison played well, responding to different defensive looks from Webb, mainly double teams, and did well to find teammates in open spots for points. He held his own and showed why the Warriors were the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament. He’ll need to be stellar again on Wednesday night against top-seed South Granville.
Ethan Wood stays hot from 3
Teammate Elijah Jamison finished with eight assists in the win over Webb and many of them came at the hands of 2021 guard Ethan Wood. Wood finished with nine points on three made 3-pointers and they all came at a timely point in the game. He finished 3-of-8 from behind the arc, but as his confidence grows, so should the end result.
Jordan Durham is coming along
Another player that stepped up big for Louisburg is 2023 guard Jordan Durham. Durham finished with nine points and knocked two 3-pointers in the victory. He also had four rebounds and four assists, showing off his ability to create for others. He’s peaking at the right time with a potential state playoff bid on the line for them.
Marcus Portis has potential in the frontcourt
Another freshman to keep an eye on is Marcus Portis. Portis is a 6-foot-4 prospect that had just four points in the contest but as he learns how to take his time in the paint and finish off the glass, he should find his way on the floor more. He also had three rebounds and three blocks in the paint, showing off his prowess in the paint. He’s a prospect to keep an eye on the next few seasons.
Jamarion Dunkins paced things for Webb
Despite going down with an injury early in the second half, 2021 forward Jamarion Dunkins still managed to keep things close for the J.F. Webb Warriors. Dunkins put up 16 points, with eight points coming in each half for the Warriors. He’s a 6-foot-3 forward that holds his own in the paint and is a burden on the glass.
