Teams that are in the Guy Gibbs region are: (3) Longmont, (6) Skyline, (11) The Classical Academy, (14) Conifer, (19) Widefield, (22) Steamboat, (27) Wheat Ridge, (30) D’Evelyn, (35) Palisade, (38) Canon City, (43) Mitchell, (46) Eagle County.
Longmont – Eddie Kurjak & Dallas Dye
Kurjak is a junior who is 6’8 and has played in all twenty-three games so far this season for Longmont. He is a presence down low, he averaged: 13.9 PPG, 6.4 RPG, 3.0 BPG shooting 68% from two-point range (143/210). Dye is the senior big on the team who is about 6’4 and does the majority of his damage from inside the arc as well, shooting 58% from two-point range on the year. He averaged 14.7 PPG, 7.1 RPG 3.3 APG, 1.5 SPG during the regular season and is a player that has seen varsity time ever since his freshmen year. He finished the season scoring double digits in the last six games.
Skyline – Austin Robison
Robison is the physical presences for Skyline, at 6’5 he makes his living from inside the arc but does keep the defense honest from deep, shooting 32% (22/69) on the year. He averaged: 14.7 PPG, 6.0 RPG, 1.5 APG, 1.5 SPG during the regular season and enters the playoffs scoring double digits in their last eight games. He leads the team in both points per game as well as rebounds.
The Classical Academy – Tyler Trogstad
Trogstad at 6’6 is the big man for The Classical Academy who averaged: 11.8 PPG, 9.4 RPG during the regular season for the Titans playing in nineteen games, scoring double figures in twelve of those games. He is shooting 51% from two-point range (80/156) and will stretch the defense from distance.
Conifer – Ocean Hageman
Hageman holds down the post for Conifer, the 6’6 senior finished the regular season averaging a double-double at 12.0 PPG, 10.0 RPG, including 1.5 SPG, 2.6 BPG on the defensive side of the ball. He is shooting 57% from two-point range (78/138) and will step out to attempt a three every now and then. He plays with a high motor and benefits from being along side one of the most unselfish point guards in the state in Wallace who leads the state in assists. Hageman is also a strong defender, playing the passing lanes well and protects the rim with his athletic ability.
Widefield – Randall Days
Days might only be 6’2 but he plays much bigger than that. He leads Widefield in scoring and rebounding this year at: 20.7 PPG and 8.0 RPG, shooting 59% from inside the arc (146/249). He does not attempt many threes, but he is shooting 45% on the year (25/56) and is a very solid foul shooter at 80% (109/136). He ended the regular season scoring double figures in their last five games and has a season high of 36 coming in a tough loss against Pueblo West earlier in the year.
Steamboat – Dawson Lindquist & Eric Pollert
Dawson is a 6’2 senior who has seen varsity time since his freshmen year. He averaged: 11.7 PPG, 6.0 RPG this year for the Sailors. He is someone who can score from all three levels of the court but does most of his work from inside the arc. Pollert is a 6’7 junior who averaged: 8.1 PPG, 6.0 RPG on the year and scored double digits in their final four games of the regular season including two big double-doubles to end the year. He does a nice job of protecting the paint and altering opposing teams shots in the lane.
Wheat Ridge – Dominic Bronk
Bronk is also another player who has seen varsity time since his freshmen year at Wheat Ridge. He has good size at 6’5 and averaged: 13.0 PPG, 9.8 RPG during the regular season which are both career highs. He does is damage from inside the arc, shooting 44% from two-point range (94/204). He recorded twelve double-doubles in the twenty-three games he played in, and was a rebound or two shy in several other cases. He leads the team in rebounds and is second in scoring.
D’Evelyn – Sandy Dineager & Luke Kjellsen
Dineager leads the team in both points per game as well as rebounds at: 11.1 PPG and 5.0 RPG. He does all of his damage from inside the three-point arc, shooting 52% (114/221) scoring double figures in fourteen of the twenty-two games he has played in. Kjellsen, a junior is the second leading score on the team at 10.5 PPG and second in rebounding with 4.0 RPG. He is a player that can score from a number of different places on the court.
Palisade – Watts Erb
Erb has been a contributor on varsity for Palisade ever since his sophomore season. This year as a senior he averaged: 12.3 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 2.0 APG and has good size at 6’3. He is shooting 48% from inside the arc (78/161) as well as 40% from distance on the season going (23/58). He is a strong defensive rebounder and also has good vision on the court, leading the team in assists.
