2A MVP 6’2 Ky Brown of Beaver High School
the Class of 2021 combo guard did it all this year. Ky was the smartest player on the court as he knew when to push the tempo and when to pull it back and get a long possession. He was often face guarded but found ways to not only help himself but to help his teammates as well.
While only averaging 14.7 points a game. In the Championship game against Enterprise he scored 24 points to lead all scorers. He was slashing and sharing the ball. He was the primary ball handler and was able to hit some major free-throws as Enterprise made some tough shots. One of Ky’s most impressive games came in the semifinals against Parowan when he only had 4 points. Ky and his Beaver teammates were outmatched down-low because of their lack of size. Ky went down low and pulled down 8 rebounds that were major as Parowan continually git second chances to score. The hockey assist were crucial and the often underrated screen setting by Ky to get his teammates open was great as well.
Ky plays at a small school but he plays with a lot of heart as he has major IQ and does what it takes to win. Ky is on pace to score 1,000 points. He can handle the ball shoot the mid-range and he always finds ways to get some easy buckets at the free-throw-line. He would be an ideal for a school in the NWAC. Ky still has a lot of growth in his game that can still be developed.
Ky helped Beaver finish 15-8 and along the way they had to beat Duchesne who beat them earlier this year, Parowan a region foe they split with, American Heritage who also beat them earlier this year and added a player late. Then they had the tall task of beating Enterprise for the first time all year after going 0-2 against them. The 6th seeded Beavers pulled of stunner after stunner. This is Beavers 2nd State Championship in 3 years.
