Beyond the Numbers

When I saw Taki UluilakepaTakiUluilakepa5'11" | CGPuyallup | 2023WA play earlier this year at the T-Town Throwdown, he stood out because of his hustle. He looked like a kid that would earn his playing time by chasing down loose balls, fighting for rebounds, and leaving it all on the court. As the season has progressed, however, it has become clear that Taki has some serious skill and a bright future ahead if this season is any indicator of things to come. I’ve questioned whether or not the Puyallup Vikings have a legitimate third option behind juniors Cobi CampbellCobiCampbell6'2" | PGPuyallup | 2021StateWA and Luke HolcombLukeHolcomb6'4" | PFPuyallup | 2021StateWA, and Taki UluilakepaTakiUluilakepa5'11" | CGPuyallup | 2023WA has repeatedly answered the call for a team that is looking to make a deep postseason run. He has proved himself to be one of the top freshmen in the state.
