Top 4 Seeds
1. Davidson Day School (26-1)
The Davidson Day Patriots are the top seed in the NCISAA 2A State Playoff bracket after a stellar regular season. They’ve lost just one game heading into the 2A NCISAA State Playoffs, so they’re bound to get every team’s best game. There’s no need to fret though with Jackson Threadgill (Charlotte), C.J. Huntley (App State) and 2021 guard Bryce Alfino in the rotation.
2. Northside Christian Academy (22-8)
The Northside Christian Academy Knights are a talented squad to watch. They have some young pieces to keep an eye on (Wesley Tubbs Jr. & Marcus Brown) The return of unsigned senior forward Jayden Seymour will also be something to keep an eye on in the state playoffs.
3. Wayne Country Day School (26-5)
Wayne Country Day School is a solid bunch led by unsigned seniors Carlos Raven and Linwood Grandy. 2021 guard Jaden Cooper and 2022 guard Mike Best Jr. are playing well in the backcourt too. The Chargers are peaking at the right time, coming off a 79-78 victory over Greenfield School in the CPIC Tournament Championship game. Don’t be surprised to find them back in the Finals once again.
4. Freedom Christian Academy (20-10)
Freedom Christian has had an interesting journey to this year’s NCISAA 2A State Playoffs. They lost to Village Christian in the SAC Tournament Semifinal on Feb. 7 after getting a victory back on Jan. 31. They’ll look to play their best basketball with junior Jayden Doyle leading the charge. Unsigned seniors Manrique Alvarado and Aymeric Toussaint are also two prospects to watch.
Each of the top four seeds has a double-bye in the bracket
Sleeper Team: Salem Baptist Christian School
The Salem Baptist Christian School Vikings have a first-round bye heading into the 2A State Playoffs with a potential fourth meeting with Trinity Academy on the slate as well. They’re a scrappy bunch with forward Zach Shumate (Newberry) and unsigned senior forward Brandon Summers.
