Continue ReadingEvery year at this time a lot of great kids and players and have their high school careers come to a end in the playoffs. Lets take a look at some 2020 players who ended the high school season this week with a loss in the opening round of the SCHSL Playoffs.
Quentin Hodge – Lakewood HS (Sumter) (pictured on the front)
Hodge 6’5 is ranked #11 in the 2020 Palmetto State Class. Hodge a very versatile guard saw his team fall at Daniel HS in the opening round. Hodge has NCAA D1 interest.
Ahmad BrownAhmad Brown – Ashley Ridge HS (Summerville)
Brown 6’5 left-handed forward finished with 17 points in a loss to Sumter HS in the opening round. Brown might need to entertain junior college according to the Swamp Foxes Coaching Staff.
William HemingwayWilliam Hemingway – Loris HS
Hemingway 6’4 is a pogo stick athlete that plays small forward for the Lions. The Lions lost to Bishop England in the opening round. Hemingway averaged 14.1 ppg this season for the Lions.
CJ PlantinCJ Plantin – Westside HS (Anderson)
Plantin 6’4 made a solid return this past season to the Rams after practically being retired it seemed for a few years. Plantin plays around the rim very well and the Rams lost a playoff opener to Spartanburg HS. Plantin averaged 13.4 ppg this season for the (16-11) Rams.
Demetric HardinDemetric Hardin – Lewisville HS
Hardin 6’3 wasn’t enough to beat a very solid Fox Creek HS team. Hardin a multi-sport athlete had a tremendous career for the Lions. Hardin excels on the gridiron as a wide receiver-running back and quarterback. Very versatile player. Hardin made the SCBCA All-State Team for Class 2A.
Jaylen GreenJaylen Green – Philip Simmons HS
Green 6’4 is a ultra athletic forward for the Iron Horses. Green recently went over 1,000 career points.
Alex CunninghamAlex Cunningham – Greenwood HS
Cunningham had his career cut short by the Dorman HS Cavaliers. Cunningham 6’1 averaged 15.1 ppg this season for the Eagles.
Dorian MilesDorian Miles – Eastside HS
Miles a post player is a space eater in the paint with a soft touch around the cup. Miles 6’6 has the ability to step-out and knockdown a open shot.
Carrele CooperCarrele Cooper – Waccamaw HS (Pawleys Island)
Cooper saw his career come to a end this week vs Marion HS. Cooper a rangy guard for the Warriors averaged 12.8 ppg this season.
Darrell GardnerDarrell Gardner – Georgetown HS
Gardner a combo guard best suited off the ball saw his career end with a loss at home to Cheraw HS. Gardner a very solid student in the classroom averaged 13.6 ppg this season. The Bulldogs finished the year at (18-7).
Tyjhai CalvinTyjhai Calvin – East Clarendon HS (Turbeville)
Calvin 5’11 went over 1,000 career points a few weeks back for the Wolverines. Calvin a strong point guard also excels on the football field for the Wolverines. Calvin made the SCBCA All-State Team this season for Class 2A. Calvin was voted Region Player of the Year.
CJ GilchristCJ Gilchrist – Mullins HS
Gilchrist a undersized scoring guard finished his career with a loss to Whale Branch HS. Gilchrist had been a staple for the Auctioneers over the past 3 seasons in the back court.
