Je’Lani Clark 6’3 2020 guard from Archbishop Riordan (Nevada Reno) Played the point guard position in a decisive victory over Valley Christian. Clark scored 14 pts, dished out 4 asts, and had 4 stls in just 3 qtrs of the game. He has the potential to be a solid point guard at the next level.
Robert Vaihola 6’7 2021 center Archbishop Riordan. He has been going back and forth as a starter and reserve. On this night he started at the center position and dominated from the beginning to the end, which was only 3 qtrs tonight. Vaihola will be a key player for Riordan down the stretch. He gives them a solid inside scorer. 21 pts, 8 rebs, and 4 asts.
Lee Hubbard III 6’1 2021 point guard Archbishop Riordan. Hubbard doesn’t need to score a lot of points for his team as long as he’s locked in and focused. He was aggressive attacking from different angles, and he was a good ball mover in this game. Defense is where he can be a solid contributor for this team. He had 6 rebs, 5 asts, and 2 stls.
Pawllos Habtom 6’3 2021 guard Valley Christian. He was the best player on his team in this game. He played hard on both ends of the court. He was aggressive driving into the lane for mid-range jumpers in the key. He battled with the big boys in the paint for rebounds. He finished the night with a double double. He was 6/13 fgs, and 9/11 at the FT line. 22 pts 10 rebounds.
Jared Johnson 6’1 2020 guard Santa Teresa. Johnson had a breakout game against Leland. His first three shots were 3’s which he drilled in the first qtr. He was consistent on the drive to the basket and finished with both hands several times. He had good shot selection and he delivered good crisp passes to teammates. He finished the night with a season high 27 pts.
Mahmoud Fofana 6’5 guard/wing 2020 Santa Teresa is the best player in the BVAL Mt Hamilton Division. He is now finding out what goes with that label. He’s being double teamed whenever he has the ball, and help isn’t far away. In this game he handled it well, he didn’t force it. He had 7 assists, that could explain why Johnson had a breakout game. Fofana will continue to put up good numbers, and play at a high level. He finished with 10 pts, 14 rebs, 7 asts, and 4 blks.
Evan Johnson 6’0 2022 point guard for Stevenson is a guard with good ball handling skills, and speed in the open court. He was effective on the penetration drive and kick out. He was effective from different angles at different speeds with a good change of pace. He used a floater, and spin moves. He has good lift on his mid-range and will shoot the 3.
Tobenna Ezeokeke 6’3 2022 point guard Christopher. He struggled tonight in the scoring column. He averages 12 pts a game. Ezeokeke has good size for the position, a strong body and good handles. He will have to improve his efficiency, but overall he can be an effective point guard in the future.
Duncan Ellis 6’4 2021 wing from Christopher played one of his better games of the season. He scored 16 points in a variety of ways. He scored from the elbow with a nice mid-range jumper that had lift to it, he drove hard from the wings and baseline, and he hit a couple of 3’s. Ellis is athletic and can improve his overall game if he puts in the extra work.
Alijah Washington 6’3 2021 shooting guard Piedmont Hills. Washington is becoming more than just a shooting guard, he put the ball on the floor and attacked the rim with aggression. The rising 2021 guard has improved his overall game. He handles the ball on top, his play making ability is better, and he’s getting stronger. He’s playing hard on both ends of the court. He scored 19 points.
Ignacio Bettinelli 6’4 2020 Sobrato has been playing on the varsity for 3 years now. He’s an experienced player with an High IQ. He’s an inside/out type of player who plays the post area good for his size. He has good footwork in the post, and uses a nice jump hook and fadeaway to get his shot off over taller defenders. He’s efficient at the elbow and can step out and knock down the 3. Could be a good DII or DIII prospect. He finished with 14 pts, and 6 rebs.
