Prep Hoops takes a look at several players who are raising their profile through the midway point of the 2019-2020 season.
Will Anciaux, 6’6, F, 2023, Kapaun Mt. Carmel
Anciaux has emerged as a forward to keep your eyes on. He has great size at 6’6 and shows good speed, footwork and an ability to make plays with and without the ball. He’s averaging 10 points (70 percent from the field, 90 percent from the free throw line) and six rebounds per game. He’s also showing some prosise as a defender and can force turnovers and block some shots.
Isaac Bible, 5’9, G, 2023, Belle Plaine
A young freshman who can see time on the floor due to his three point shot and speed. He’s a wiry player who has a soft touch to his shot and a lot of potential. He keeps his head down and looks to make extra passes and be available when his team expects him to make a play. Isaac and Tim Bible (below) jhave helped Belle Plaine open the 2019-20 season 10-3 overall.
Tim Bible, 6’3, G/F, 2023, Belle Plaine
One of the most active players on Belle Plaine who makes a lot of news in transition and as a defender. Bible is a scrappy player with good size good length in the ability to finish at The rim. He looks to block shots and forced turnovers and get out and make plays in transition. He is a scoring threat as well, showing a lot of grit from the mid-range area and inside. Bible can also shoot the deep ball and shows good leadership as well.
Kobe Smith, G, 2023, Wichita Southeast
A strong scoring option and rebounder who looks to finish plays around the basket and play physical on both ends of the floor. Smith is an interesting young player who put a lot of effort into his game and looks to contribute however he can in transition and in half court settings.
Marcus Zeigler, 6’0, G, 2023, Wichita Heights
Zeigler is a nice guard on the rise who has good athleticism and the ability to mix things up with his handles. He has good size for the position at 6’0 and makes good decisions with the ball in his hands. Zeigler has a lot of potential in his game and is already averaging 7.3 points and a couple rebounds per game.
