The Cavaliers break the losing streak
Durham Academy got its first win in over 14 seasons with a victory over Ravenscroft School on Tuesday night with a 65-53 win. They were focused early and opened up a big first-half lead to take home a big win on the road and put themselves at 6-0 in TISAC play and 24-4 on the season as the schedule winds down.
Brent Randleman scores 20 points
2021 guard Brent Randleman was Durham Academy’s best player on the floor last night, finishing with a career-high 20 points along with six rebounds, two assists and two steals. Randleman set the tone early in the first half with a tip dunk to keep the crowd on their feet and was instrumental in setting the tone on offense with his ability to attack the rim.
Nik Graves controls the pace
2022 point guard Nik Graves was another standout performer with 14 points and eight assists at the floor general position. He’s a point guard that’s slowly figuring things out on both ends. He sparked a run at the end of the first half, scoring seven straight points by himself, and closed out the game well by making plays.
Toby Harris continues to impress on the perimeter
2021 wing Toby Harris was yet another double-figure scorer for Durham Academy last night. Harris put up 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the floor and 3-of-4 shooting from 3-point range. He cooled off a bit in the second half, but if he kept his shooting up, things could have gotten interesting for their opponent.
O’Connell shows flashes of D1 potential
Brady O’Connell and the Ravens didn’t get the result they were expecting but O’Connell still managed to finish with 16 points in the game. The Old Dominion bound wing showed flashes of why he’s sought after by them. He’ll be one to keep an eye next season.
