So who played well? What players had college coaches drop in to their games? We have all the answers for you and more!
Purnell Swett Senior Forward Xavier Jones continued his outstanding play on the year with a 29 point performance in a win for his squad over Hoke County. Jones has been putting up ridiculous numbers on the season as he’s averaging close to 29 Points and 16 Rebounds per game, which has led to him picking up interest from just about every JC program in the state.
FTCC had a busy night, dropping in to see some prospects and coming away impressed enough to offer a few. Pine Forest Senior Guard Marquis Eskew and Terry Sanford Senior Forward Kyron Kelly were both players that the FTCC Trojans coaching staff were impressed with enough to extend offers to.
Millbrook HS 2021 Guard Eric van dej Heijden had UNC & NCSU drop in to see him and he did not disappoint, scoring 23 Points as his team got the win over Broughton HS. Any time you have a player of his skillset, combined with the height that he brings at 6’9, you have to be intrigued and excited.
Westover HS extended their winning streak to 15 games as they got another win last night in a conference matchup vs Grays Creek. The duo of Senior Traymond Willis-Shaw & Junior D’Marco Dunn combined for about 40 points in the blowout win. Westover will face a test this weekend as they go on the road for a matchup with Eastern Guilford.
Grace of Raleigh big man Jaylon Gibson put together a nice performance of 22 Points to help his team get a win over a talented HPCA squad. Gibson has a nice overall skillset to go along with his height and the fans at Wake Forest should be excited, as he’s only going to get better over the next few years.
Fayetteville Christian School Senior Forward Daunte Gardner will make his college decision official as he will be signing today. He committed to West Virginia Wesleyan College about a month ago and will go ahead and make it official as it seems to be an opportunity that he excited about for next year.
The Cannon School Sophomore Guard Jaden Bradley passed the 1,000 point mark, making him the youngest player at the program to do so. Bradley is already known as a top guard nationally but one of the things that truly impresses is that it seems like he has a desire to constantly get better.
It seems as if Northwood Temple Sophomore Guard Jaquantae Harris is finding his rhythm as he has been playing very well of late including an impressive game last night. Harris went for 26 points and pulled down 7 rebounds in a win for the team over Fayetteville Christian, this comes after he put together a 16, 7 and 6 performance in a win over VCA.
