Fritz was a senior at Wamego in 2018-19, where he led all of Kansas 4A schools in scoring with 22.4 points per game. He also averaged 4.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists.
But rather than attend college, Fritz enrolled at Sunrise Christian Academy in Bel Aire, Kansas for a “gap year” of development. The season does not count toward his collegiate eligibility.
Fritz is playing behind shooting guards Collin Moore and Tyrin Lawrence, two high-level recruits.
Fritz may still hope to receive other offers.
If he does wind up at Kansas State, it will be familiar territory. His mother, Suzie, is the longtime volleyball coach for the Wildcats. His father, Steve, was an Olympic decathlete who also suited up for the Wildcats basketball team while in college. After his competitive career ended, Steve returned to Kansas State to coach track for 21 years.
