Adrian McIntyre (Saugus, Guard, 2020) Talk about dominating! I don’t know if any other player across the country has improved their stock more than McIntyre. The Saugus product exploded for 48 points to go along with 13 rebounds and 7 steals on Friday night at the Real Run. McIntyre has been carrying the load all season long for Saugus as he has been putting up incredible performances every night. He stands in at 6’2″ and can score on all three levels. McIntyre is already the school’s all time leading scorer. Also ahead of his peers in the curve as Adrian will graduate at the age of 17.
LJ McClain (Lynwood, Wing, 2020) McClain is a physically imposing swing man who has the body to be a tight end or defensive end on the gridiron. LJ gets the majority of his points attacking the rim as he’s almost an automatic bucket when he gets in the lane and requires more than one defender to stop him. The athletic McClain also has a soft touch and shows the potential to shoot from outside. The 6’4″ swing man finished with 13 points 7 rebounds vs the red hot Corona Centennial.Huskies at Real Run, after putting up 26 and 25 point games at the Dwan Hurt Classic. McClain is currently unsigned and has interest from several D1 and D2 schools.
Christian Bood (Bishop Montgomery, Wing, 2020) Christian Bood was one of the more impressive players at the Real Run. Depending on the system he ends up on at the next level, Bood’s skill set will allow him to contribute in many ways. Bood is athletic and can finish creatively at the rim. He also has good rotation on his jumper and can knock down the three ball with regularity. Bood illustrates a lot of promise to be at 3 and D guy at the next level. The Bishop Montgomery Knight finished with 19 points vs Heritage Christian.
Bryson Stephens (Rancho Christian, Guard, 2020) Stephens is a perfect example of a player who has contributions that impact the game beyond the stat sheet. Stephens is a great defender with great hands. The 6’0″ guard has a quick first step who on any given position he can explode to the rim and finish through contact. Stephens is a great glue guy for Rancho Christian and is slowly coming into his own. He has room to improve his ball handling and his range which should help him be a complete player at the next level.
Tyrelle Hunt (Coronado, F, 2020) Hunt is another player who has intangibles and contributes to his team in many ways. The 6’5″ forward scores with put backs, in the paint, and also possesses a reliable 15 foot jumper. Hunt is tough, doesn’t back down from his opponents, and does a great job of boxing out his man and hustling for rebounds and loose balls. He’s going to be a great glue guy at the next level.
