Three Standouts
Marcellus Vail (Collins)
The Samford signee came up huge for Collins in the 4th quarter. Collins found themselves down by 6 after three quarters. Vail had two And-1 baskets and hit 3 free throws to seal the game. He had 9 of his 18 points in the 4th quarter. He nailed three 3s and hit all of his 5 free throw attempts. Vail’s leadership was a big time presence late in this game. He separated himself from the other players on the floor as he took total control towards the end of the game. Vail was the reason this Collins team fought back and won this game.
Luke Morrison (South Oldham)
The Kentucky Wesleyan signee was huge in this game. He finished with a game-high 32 points. He hit three 3s and went 9-10 from the free throw line. His driving game and mid-range game is what stood out the most from his game. Morrison has been killing it all season and Kentucky Wesleyan is getting a good one. You can tell how hard he works to get a good shot off. Every time he shoots the ball, you think it’s going in. Great performance from Morrison. Excited to see what he and the rest of the South Oldham team can do the rest of the season.
Dayvion McKnight (Collins)
The WKU signee was guarded really well by South Oldham the entire game. At times they were face guarding him and even double teaming. Dayvion had to find other ways to contribute in this game in order for his team to win. He finished with 8 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists. He crashed the glass and had some big time assists to his teammates. This game goes to show you that Dayvion doesn’t need to score the ball for his team to win. He can find you easy baskets and he pushes the ball down the court better than anyone in the state.
