The Snubs
To me there are two very clear, very overlooked snubs that didn’t make the list and they are Will Cordes of Shakopee and DT Frierson of Park Center.
Will Cordes. If EP can have four guys, Shakopee can have two, you know? Any person who was at the Shakopee vs Hopkins game would clearly be aware that Will was the player that put that basketball game away. Anybody that watches basketball in the spring and summer knows what Will did at PG for the Matrix. Cordes is the second leading Shakopee scorer, the leader in assists, and the heart and soul of the team. Will is more deserving than at least a dozen guys that made the watch list.
DT Frierson. DT is the top Park Center defender, the ball handler, the third leading scorer, atop the team assist lead, and a top three rebounder. He’s all around producer every night that can be counted on and a great leader on and off the floor. There are only six guys on the watch list as versatile as DT.
The Top Ten
When it comes to the top ten I still feel that the names are very obvious with a final spot up in question. Here goes….
Leader – Jalen Suggs
Top Five – Suggs, Dawson Garcia, Ben Carlson, Kerwin Walton
Fifth Spot – Dain Dainja has missed a lot of games lately and Park Center fell out of the top spot. That could possibly open the door for others although I would still say Dain Dainja should be in that five. But who could step in and grab that spot? Nathan Heise has been purely incredible at Lake City and Steven Crowl has Eastview in the top five having a great year.
The Eight – Jalen Suggs, Dawson Garcia, Ben Carlson, Kerwin Walton, Dain Dainja, Steven Crowl, Nathan Heise, Gabe Madsen.
Last Two Spots. – If EP keeps playing the way they are they are they will get a guy in the top ten and I would saw Drake Dobbs is that guy. Also, Noah King has his team undefeated and is having a great year so he should also be here. Not to mention he beat Heise head to head.
