Continue ReadingRichmond County got off to a quick start as soon as the game began and would take the lead into the half 27-12, holding JBHS to two points in the 2nd quarter. In the 4th quarter Jack Britt made a run to cut the lead down to three but couldn’t get over the hump as Richmond County held on to get the win.
Richmond County Senior Forward Jarvis Tillman: We didn’t see a ton of offensive production from him but he brings some nice size for his team at 6’7. Rebounding the ball is where he made the most impact on the game, as well as blocking shots at a high rate.
Jack Britt HS Senior Guard Langston Davis: He got off to a slow start in the first half but as the game went on he got better and made a nice impact on both ends of the floor. Using his height and wingspan advantage to score the ball in the paint offensively, we got the chance to see flashes of how good he could be on that end of the floor in the 2nd half.
Richmond County Junior Forward Nygie Stroman: He’s been averaging close to a double/double on the year and it doesn’t take long to see how he’s doing it. Constantly working on the boards offensively and defensively as well as scoring the ball by attacking the paint. We also got to see his ability to score the ball from midrange and the short corner, he finished with a season high of 27 Points and double digit rebounding, all while leading his team by bringing the energy and enthusiasm that you love to see.
Jack Britt HS Sophomore Guard EJ McArthur: Came off the bench and provided a nice spark for his team in the fourth quarter when they were down big. He has good PG skills and did a nice job of getting the team into their sets while making the right play at the right time.
Richmond County Junior Wing Dylan Lewis: Understands his role on the squad and plays it well, as he is the shooter that spreads the floor for this group. He’s constantly moving without the ball and is prepared to shoot once the ball touches his hands.
Jack Britt HS Sophomore Guard Chris Crosby: One of the reasons why JBHS was able to make a run in the 2nd half, he stepped in and made positive plays right away. Knocking down three point shots, getting into the paint and coming up with defensive stops were all things they got from him.
Richmond County Junior Guard Caleb Hood: Understands how to use his size and strength to make positive plays throughout the game. Clearly he’s going to play football on the next level but his upper body strength and athletic ability helps him to make plays on both ends of the court.
