Continue ReadingTrinity Christian and Greenfield met up on Thursday night to see which squad could take over the top spot in the NCISAA 1A division. Both teams got off to a quick start with Trinity taking a 52-39 lead into the half. Greenfield would make a run in the 2nd half and cut the lead down to three but Trinity would respond and get the 89/81 win.
Greenfield Senior Forward Trey Pittman: D2 programs that need a stretch Forward should be offering him immediately! He is one of the more fundamentally sound players in the state and shoots it very well from every level. Leading all scorers with 27 points on a high field goal percentage, the 6’7 prospect has the skillset and willingness to be coached to transition well to the next level.
Trinity Christian Senior Forward Todd Burtt: He was a huge part of the offensive attack for Trinity in the first half, going for 10 out of 17 of his points in that quarter. His ability to knock down shots from midrange and deep at 6’8 is one of the reasons that college coaches are excited about his potential.
Greenfield School Senior Guard Colin Guilford: A quick Guard that looks to attack the defense and score it. He finished with 22 Points on the night and displayed some speed and nice ballhandling throughout the night.
Trinity Christian Sophomore Guard Freddie Dillione: This was his first game back after suffering a broken nose. Early on you could tell he was being bothered by the mask he was wearing but got use to it as time went on. The 2nd half was where he made the most impact, especially in the 4th quarter, coming up with big buckets to help lead his team to the win.
Greenfield School Senior Guard Djimon Bailey: Had a slower start to the game but picked it up in the 2nd half, scoring 8 out of his 13 points in that half. He makes an impact not only with his ability to score the ball but also with his passing and rebounding.
Trinity Christian Sophomore Guard Cam Oates: Was very aggressive in the 2nd half, running the show for his team as well as getting his own offense. He’s quick and alot stronger than he looks as contact inside the paint doesn’t bother him at all.
