Tanner Mans, 6’6, G/F, 2020, Bishop Carroll
One of the top wings in the state who brings great size, length and a soft touch to the floor as both a shooter and passer. He is a terrific outside shooter and has the frame and athleticism to slash inside and score through contact and around the rim. Mans has confidence with the ball in his hands but also moves incredibly well without it and can operate as a catch-and-shoot/score player. He’s averaging 13 points, 4.6 assists, 3.2 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game. Mans is averaging 42 percent from the floor and 75 percent from the free throw line. Mans currently holds offers from Fort Hays, Newman and Washburn University.
Norman Massey, 6’4, G/F, 2020, Wichita East
Massey was a dominant player on Grind Elite over the summer and he’s showing up strong this season as well. A hard-nosed player who is both physical and a bit of finesse. He has a strong frame and connects when he’s near the basket. He has terrific quickness on the low and high post and brings a smooth game and a physicality to the floor that can lead to buckets on the block and blocked shots in half court settings.
Jacob Byrne, 2020, Valley Center
Byrne is a strong player who has good size and the ability to feel for space and connect when he has an open look. He is strong in the transition game and is a good shooter from behind the three-point line, sometimes several feet beyond the arc. he’s aggressive inside and can get to the free-throw line and connect. Byrne is averaging 17.8 points points per game and is shooting a strong percentage from the field. He’s shooting 46 percent from the 3-point line and 89 percent from the free throw line.
Brayden Sadler, 6’1, G, 2020, Udall
An impressive scoring option for Udall who brings a strong presence to the floor. Sadler is a sharp shooter from outside who can feel his way inside and score in a variety of ways. He’s currently shooting 59 percent from the floor and averaging a team-high 27.4 points per game. He’s also shooting 42 percent from 3-point range and 78 percent from the free throw line. Sadler also brings great vision and a rebounder’s eye to the game as he averages 5.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.7 steals per game.
Eastyn Ruffin, 5’8, G, 2020, Wichita Northwest
A nice lead guard for Northwest who can handle the ball, score inside and out and play strong defense on the perimeter and the high post area. Ruffin has a good shot and the handles and IQ to understand where he should be to put himself in a position to score. Ruffin is averaging 11 points, 3.7 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game. He’s shooting 40 percent from the field and is hitting 86 percent from the free throw line.
