Tony Osburn 6’1″ Mound City: The high-scoring 2022 guard was the leading scorer in the tournament, which included 34 points in the semifinals against North Andrew and 21 points against Platte Valley in the championship game. He has a beautiful looking jump shot where he has form and good elevation. He can knock them down from the mid-range or from 3-point territory. He is good off the bounce or he can come off screens to shoot as well. He can also attack the rim off the dribble.
Clayton Merrigan 6’3″ Platte Valley: The 2020 guard was the Most Valuable Player of the tournament after leading PV to the championship. He scored 30 points in the championship game victory over Mound City and took over the fourth quarter with 14 points to rally his team from an 11-point deficit. He is a fundamentally sound player who passes well, plays very good defense and makes his teammates better. He moves without the ball well for layups and he can hit open 3-pointers.
Chase Farnan 6’6″ Platte Valley: A smooth 2020 post player who dominates around the basket with his height and nice shooting touch. His teammates do a great job of getting the ball to him in different ways for him to get easy buckets. He is thin, but he moves well and has good footwork in the paint. He also knocked down a 3-pointer at the end of the first quarter in the championship game.
Landon Poppa 6’4″ Mound City: A very athletic 2021 wing player who is a tough cover with his ability to attack the basket off the dribble combined with his 3-point shooting prowess. He finishes very easily at the rim with his athleticism and he also had numerous transition dunks. He also had three impressive blocks in the semifinals against North Andrew.
Jaden Baker 6’0″ North Andrew: The 2020 point guard made the All-Tournament Team as he averaged close to 20 points a game and leading the Cardinals to a third-place finish. He was very impressive with his ball handling and ability to get into the lane to either get buckets or drop off dimes to open teammates. He also had a nice step-back jumper in his bag. He scored a total of 39 points in the semifinals and third-place game.
Tanner McDaniel 6’3″ North Andrew: A talented 2021 wing player who had a very productive tournament, which included a combined 40 points in the semifinals and third-place game. He score consistently on several tough takes to the basket where he was able to use his size and strength. His skill level was good and he plays with a lot of energy.
