Rock Creek, 7-0, first in the Mid-East League:
Dawson Zenger has led the Mustangs with an impressive 25 points per game. He put up more than 30 against Clay Center, Abilene and Wabaunsee. The one game he was shut down, teammate Nolan Churchman put up 20 to pull out the double overtime win over Riley County.
Royal Valley 6-0, first in the Big Seven League:
Sophomore Nahcs Wahwassuck has been the story for Royal Valley. The 6-foot-4 sophomore does it all for the Panthers, including scoring nearly 20 points a game. But he’s not alone. Fellow sophomores Brady Klotz and Mason Thomas have had their moments and make for a bright future for the Panthers. Klotz averages about 10 points and 7 rebounds a game.
Centralia 6-1, first in the Twin Valley League:
Kamble Haverkamp averages about 14 points a game. But the 6-foot senior leads a very balanced attack for the Panthers.
Valley Falls 7-1, second in Northeast Kansas League:
Avery Gatzemeyer averages about 18 points a game to lead the Dragons. The 6-foot-1 went for 20 or more against Horton, Onaga, Oskaloosa and Maur Hill. Tyler Lockhart, a 6-foot-3 senior, adds about 14 a game and is remarkably consistent.
