Sandy’s Spiel Showcase Top Wings
2021 6-4 W Shone Webb – Hart County
If you don’t know about Shone Webb by now, then you haven’t been paying attention. Webb hit big shots down the stretch last season during Hart County’s run to the Class 3A state championship and has continued his development his junior season. He entered the Sandy’s Spiel Showcase averaging 18.5 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists and surpassed each mark on Saturday. Webb led the way in Hart County’s destruction of Class 6A No. 8 Evans 76-50. The incredibly long wing poured in 22 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks and had complete control of the game. Webb’s out of this world length combined with his athleticism makes him a potentially elite two-way player. He can get into the lane and finish through contact, going 8-9 from the foul line. His playmaking ability stands out, as he can create off the dribble and whip in tough passes from tight angles. Webb is a big-time competitor and should be on D-I radars while D-II’s should be all over him before he officially blows up.
2020 6-4 W Cole Perusek – GAC
Shot-making is coveted at all levels of basketball. Perusek’s 28-point outburst on 8 threes was a day he won’t soon forget. A top shooter and a top overall wing from the Sandy’s Spiel Showcase, the D-III prospect is a floor spacer and winner that is willing to do the dirty work.
2021 6-5 W Travis Harper – St. Anne-Pacelli
Length? Check. Athleticism? Check. Jumper? Check. Travis Harper is a big sleeper out of Columbus that is starting to put all the pieces together. Averaging 19.5 points and 5.5 rebounds on the season, Harper had an exceptional first half and finished with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocks in the Vikings’ 57-52 win over Elbert County. Harper will need to pack on some major muscle in the offseason and improve his ball handling and aggressiveness but his ability to elevate over defenders and get off mid-range pull-ups is something he is already advanced at. He did drift into the background in the second half when Elbert County made their run and tightened up the game. Being able to stay consistent for the full 32 and affect the game when his shot isn’t dropping is his next area for growth.
2021 6-3 W Keyshawn Fleetion – St. Anne-Pacelli
Fleetion had his moments for St. Anne-Pacelli and posted 9 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Compared to Harper, he’s not as long or tall but has a stronger body and is equally athletic if not even bouncier. Fleetion is a pure slasher but can knock down the occasional three when left open. If he can expand his range out to the three-point line, it will open up more driving lanes.
