Moore wants to play at the college level and he recently received some big news on that front but his focus has also been on the Roughriders getting to the highest heights – something that is very much still a work in progress.
“As a team we started off slow but we’re getting back on the horse though, picking up a couple of ‘W’s in a row,” Moore said. “We’re looking to get seven in a row before we play Jeff again. Personally, I’ve been playing kind of decent. I feel like I could be giving more for the team so the losses won’t be that close, but I feel like senior season has been going pretty well.”
Roosevelt currently stands at 6-8 overall, 3-3 in PIL play after dropping a game to Jefferson last Friday night. Before that loss they had won three league games in a row and Moore has been a big part of the success. He’s averaging close to 20 points a game and as usual he’s knocking down threes but his game has some some diversity this season as well.
“I worked on my mid-range game over the fall,” Moore said. “I’m trying to be a three-level scorer, so I’ve been working on that a lot.”
College programs have noticed and Moore recently picked up his very first scholarship offer from Multnomah. “It’s exciting that I’ve got one under my belt so that’s kind of anxiety relief,” Moore said. “I can play more comfortable, play my game and I’m pretty happy. They play like how I like to play – they get up and down and they like to shoot a lot. And I like the coaching staff, they’re pretty good.”
Moore noted that Clark, Linn-Benton, and Chemeketa have also shown some interest and going the JC route out of high school is definitely a possibility. “I’m just trying to see what’s best for me right now,” Moore said. “I’m keeping my options open.”
With no decision coming anytime soon, Moore is looking forward to the rest of Roosevelt’s games. The sky is the limit according to him. “I feel like we make it to the Chiles Center honestly,” Moore said. “we’ve got the pieces, We’ve just got to click.”
Moore currently ranks as the #52 player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2020 rankings.
