Recruiting Notebook: Southern Illinois Seniors
PrepHoopsIllinois caught up with some of the top uncommitted senior prospects in Southern Illinois to see where things stand with their recruitments! Let’s see where the recruitments are heading down the home stretch with some of the best from the 618!
Luke Cox Luke Cox 6'3" | SG Triad | 2020 State IL (Triad)
Cox is a high scoring 6’4” guard from Triad that has put up several huge performances as a senior. On his recruitment he told us Missouri Baptist has offered and is heavily involved in his recruitment. Other schools he mentioned include SWIC, Blackburn, McKendree, North Arkansas, Augustana, Sterling College, and William Woods.
Armond Williams Armond Williams 6'5" | SF Curie | 2020 State IL (East St. Louis)
Williams is a long and lanky center with the ability to protect the rim and runs the floor with fluidity. One of the better posts still uncommitted. Williams said, “SWIC has been hitting me up. Kaskaskia too. JUCOs mainly lately. SIUE is still talking to me.”

Johnson is a high upside wiry two guard that can make an impact on both ends of the floor. When it comes to his recruitment he said, “Triton College is the latest offer I got. I am talking to Millikin, and SEMO.”
Patrick Readye Patrick Readye 6'7" | C East St. Louis | 2020 State IL (East St. Louis)
Readye is a center that showcased some touch inside and out at the recent Salem Invitational Tournament. On recruiting he mentioned, “A lot of JUCO’s and small schools hitting me up. Olney Central, Culver Stockton, Quincy, and more.”

Cawhan Smith Cawhan Smith 5'8" | PG Collinsville | 2020 State IL (Collinsville)
Smith is the x-factor for a Collinsville team that has been unstoppable this season. The point guard hit a dramatic shot to win at the Highland Shootout. As for the next level he said, “I have Earlham in Indiana interested and Kaskaskia a JUCO in Illinois.”
Jackson Creel (Mt. Vernon)
Creel is a coach’s son that has always been known as a plus shooter, but his ability to put it on the deck and pass on the move have really elevated his stock. When it comes to college he told us, “Right now I have three colleges talking to me. Those being Rend Lake, Millikin, and McKendree.”
Simon Wilson Simon Wilson 6'4" | SG Mt. Vernon | 2020 State IL (Mt. Vernon)
Wilson is also a plus shooter who has excellent size for position. This past Sunday he took a visit to SWIC where they extended him a scholarship offer. Other interest comes from UMSL, Lindenwood, and Rend Lake.

Spann is a powerful two guard that is working his way back into the lineup after a serious injury that held him out all spring and summer. Spann says that the two local JUCO’s Rend Lake and Kaskaskia are showing him the most interest at this stage.
