Two state ranked teams go at it to claim first place in their district for the time being. This wasn't the first meeting of the two teams, but it was their first meeting in district play and the two teams will have to square off again later in the season. The gym was packed and was Sold Out and a lot of students just hung outside of the building as they watched from their phones as other students streamed the game. According to the TABC (Texas Association of Basketball Coaches) weekly rankings of these two UIL-6A teams the Summer Creek Bulldogs are ranked 9th and the Atascocita Eagles are ranked 5th in the State of Texas. Here is our synopsis and prospect standouts of the game. 

Summer Creek took command of the first quarter of the game and jumped on the Eagles rather quickly with big buckets from outside the perimeter. Both teams where playing physical basketball defensively and that physical play allowed the Eagles to crawl back into the game in the first quarter before it got to ugly early on. In the second quarter the Eagles kept that same defensive energy and forced four turnovers in a row
